SB19, the most popular P-pop group, extends their global dominance by surpassing BTS on Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs powered by Twitter.
The feat was described on Billboard News as “dethroning BTS’ six-week rule,” and the Filipino pop group is the first act to accomplish this in this new Billboard category, which was introduced seven weeks ago.
SB19’s diss track Bazinga peaked at number one on the December weekly trending songs chart. From November 26 to December 2, 2021, Bazinga, which was previously ranked eighth, reigned supreme with 1.5 million Twitter mentions.
SB19 is not only the first music group to outrank BTS on Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs, but it is also the first Filipino and Southeast Asian act to outperform a BTS song on Twitter.
Bazinga rose above BTS songs Butter, which fell to second place, and Permission to Dance, which fell to third place in the new Billboard rankings. Christmas EveL by Stray Kids rose to number four, while Fly Away by Dimash Kudaibergen fell to number five.
SB19’s new single “No Stopping You” is set to be released as part of the official soundtrack for Star Cinema’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry this year Love at First Stream on December 10 on Star Music’s official YouTube channel and December 17 on Spotify and all digital streaming platforms.
They are also planning to screen their massively successful two-day Araneta Coliseum concert Our Zone at Gateway Cineplex on December 18 and 19.
