PH Army: Almost 2,000 joined the two-day recruitment caravan

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Nearly 2,000 Army aspirants attended the two-day Philippine Army recruitment caravan at the Headquarters Philippine Army Grandstand in Fort Bonifacio on March 12 to 13, 2022,

During the weekend caravan, 1,212 aspiring enlisted personnel and 500 aspiring officers registered to take the pre-qualifying Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT).

AFPSAT test takers must still pass interviews, physical fitness tests, trade tests, and physical, medical, and neuropsychiatric exams to be considered for training.

At least nine Philippine Army Major Units (PAMUs)—the Aviation Regiment, the Armor Division, the Signal Regiment, the Civil Military Operations Regiment, the 51st Engineer Brigade, the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), the First Scout Ranger Regiment, the Army Support Command, and the Army Artillery Regiment—joined the caravan and set up recruitment booths and static displays to inform Army aspirants about the diverse functions of soldiers in the organization.

The Philippine Army Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs also set up a booth for ROTC cadets and future reserve force members.

Moreover, 138 people applied for civilian human resource (CHR) jobs at the Civilian Personnel Management Branch of the Philippine Army Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel.

The caravan, organized by the Army Personnel Management Center, is part of a month-long celebration of the Army’s 125th founding anniversary.

The Philippine Army is set to recruit around a thousand more soldiers to bolster the defense of the country.
