Pearson International Scholarship Program at University of Toronto for Bachelor

The University of Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson Overseas Scholarships provide exceptional international students the chance to study at one of the world’s greatest universities in one of the world’s most multicultural cities. The scholarship program is designed to honor students who excel academically and creatively, as well as those who are recognized as leaders in their schools. The student’s impact on the lives of their school and community, as well as their future potential to contribute constructively to the global community, are given significant consideration.

These scholarships, which are given out annually, honor outstanding students from all across the world, including international students studying in Canadian high schools. This is the most prestigious and competitive international student scholarship at U of T. Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships will cover four years of tuition, books, incidental fees, and complete living expenses. The grant is only available to first-year undergraduate students at the University of Toronto. Lester B. Pearson Scholars will be named every year to roughly 37 students.

Criteria of Eligibility

  • You must be the following to apply for the Pearson International Scholarship:
  • a non-Canadian international student who requires a study permit;
  • You must be in your final year of secondary school or have graduated by June 2022.
  • In September 2023, you will begin your studies at the University of Toronto (students already attending post-secondary studies cannot be considered; students starting their studies in January 2023 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered)

Benefits Offered

  • Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships will cover four years of tuition, books, incidental fees, and complete living expenses.
  • The grant is only available to first-year undergraduate students at the University of Toronto. Lester B. Pearson Scholars will be named every year to roughly 37 students.

Process of the Application

  • To apply, you must: (external link) Receive a nomination from your school (High schools that have not been contacted/verified are asked to submit an application to participate in our program, which can be found here.) (external link) Apply to study at the University of Toronto(external link) to begin your studies in 2023 and complete your application for admission by the appropriate deadlines (external link). Please be aware that the Pearson Scholarship will be considered for your first choice of program at U of T. You may apply to many programs and be accepted to all of them; but, if you are awarded the Pearson Scholarship, you will be limited to your first choice of study at U of T at the time our scholarship decisions are announced. After we’ve You can apply for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship online after we’ve received your nomination and you’ve applied to the university. 

The deadline for school nominations is November 30, 2022.
The deadline for student OUAC applications is December 14, 2022. (Please note this is the final date to submit an application to the OUAC; however, it is recommended you apply for admission through the OUAC before November 7, 2022 as spaces in programs fill-up quickly and popular programs may close early.)
The deadline for student scholarship applications is January 16, 2023.
