After a brief hiatus, renowned broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez is making a triumphant return to ABS-CBN. On Wednesday, July 5, Sanchez signed a co-production deal with the network for her popular news magazine and lifestyle show, “Rated Korina.” The contract signing ceremony was attended by key executives, including ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez, President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO of Broadcast Cory Vidanes, OIC of Finance Group Vincent Paul Piedad, and Global Resource Creative Exchange President and Talent Manager Girlie Rodis.
Through her Instagram page, Sanchez expressed her excitement about rejoining ABS-CBN. “And, just like that, I’m baaaack. Well, I never really left,” she wrote. Sanchez acknowledged that “Rated Korina” had continued to air on ABS-CBN platforms in recent years, thanks to Brightlight Productions and Mr. Albee Benitez. However, now she returns as a partner, cementing her bond with her ABS-CBN family, with whom she grew up, through the co-production of “Rated Korina.” “The baby is now a lady,” she remarked.
Sanchez went on to extend her gratitude to the ABS-CBN executives for their warm and sincere reception. She mentioned that the phrase “Welcome back home” lingered in her ears and heart. Reflecting on her time at ABS-CBN, Sanchez wrote, “You can take the girl out of ABS-CBN, but you can’t take that ABS-CBN training out of the girl.” She expressed her intention to bring her wealth of experience to her other broadcast homes and make meaningful contributions wherever possible.
Previously known as “Rated K” during its tenure on ABS-CBN, the show underwent a title change when Sanchez moved to the TV5 network in 2020. Now, with her return to ABS-CBN, the program will be known as “Rated Korina” once again.
