Eligibility Criteria

  • UK/EU students and overseas students are eligible.
  • PhD in Experimental Nuclear Physics is an acceptable course or subject.
  • Candidates must have a BSc (Hons) or MPhys/MSci/MEng degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Nuclear Engineering, or an MSc in a related field, such as radiation physics, nuclear engineering, or medical physics, to be eligible.

Benefits Offered

The University of Surrey will fund a 3.5-year PhD study that includes a tax-free stipend of £16,500 per year, full tuition fees, plus bench fee charges of £4,000 per year for experimental fieldwork and conference/training travel.

Process of the Application

  • How to Apply: To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants need apply for admission to the university’s PhD program. After receiving confirmation, applicants can complete the grant application form.
  • Pre-qualification degree, copies of academic transcripts and awards, a statement, a copy of passport, and two academic reference letters must be supplied as supporting documents.
  • Admission Criteria: Applicants must meet the University’s basic entry requirements before applying.
  • Language Requirement: An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher (or equivalent) is required, with 6.0 in each category.
