For Ph.D. and Master’s Degree: UQ Ph.D. International Scholarships in Dissection of Genetics and Physiology

The University of Queensland has announced the Ph.D. Scholarships in Dissection of Genetics and Physiology Associated with Improved Transpiration Efficiency in Sorghum for the academic year 2022-2023, with the goal of generating new avenues for adapting crops to changing environments and breeding.

This PhD Scholarship is available from the University of Queensland for students interested in pursuing a PhD in Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Environment, or Science and Mathematics. International and Australian students are both eligible to apply for this 3.5-year scholarship worth $28,854 per year.

Process of the Application

  • How to Apply:
    • Students must submit an application for admission using the university’s online portal.
  • Students must complete the following steps when submitting their entrance application to be considered for the scholarship:
    • The scholarship and collaborative study area of the application must be visited by students.
    • Choose ‘My higher degree does not require collaboration.’
    • Select ‘I am applying for a scholarship or sponsorship or have been awarded one.’
    • Select ‘Other,’ then ‘Research Project Scholarship,’ and in the ‘Name of scholarship’ section, put ‘SORGHUM-HAMMER.’
  • Documents to Support Your Application: Students must provide the following documents to the university:
    • A copy of your curriculum vitae
    • Transcripts of studies
    • Degree transcripts and two letters of recommendation
    • Passport
  • Requirements for Admission:
    • Applicants must hold a Master of Philosophy or Bachelor’s degree with honors class IIAor equivalent in a relevant field of study from an accredited university, or a master’s degree with an overall grade point average of 5.65 on the UQ scale or its international equivalent.
  • Students must submit scores from the following English language proficiency tests:
    • TOEFL PBT-570
    • TOEFL IBT-87
    • IELTS 7.0.
