The SAIBT International Merit Scholarships are offered by the University of South Australia with the goal of honoring students’ talent in Australia. The SAIBT International Merit Scholarship is now open to students currently living outside of South Africa who will begin classes in June 2022. Applicants who meet the scholarship requirements will have their tuition fees reduced by 15%.

    • Applicants must be eligible to study in Australia.
    • Applicants must not have previously received another SAIBT scholarship or bursary.
  • Eligible Courses or Subjects: Applicants are eligible to apply for the University of South Australia’s diploma program.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet all of the following/given criteria in order to be considered:
    • The SAIBT International Merit Scholarship is exclusively offered to Diploma applicants.
    • Applicants must be eligible to study in Australia and have not accepted any other offers.

Benefits Offered

  • The University of South Australia will provide a 15% tuition fee reduction to the selected students in Australia.

Process of the Application

  • How to Apply: Students must apply for admission using the university’s application portal. All students who meet the required qualifications will be considered.
  • Students must produce copies of their passports or visas, as well as other academic documents.
  • Admission Criteria: Applicants must meet the minimal academic requirements for admission.
  • Language Requirement: At the University of Australia, students must submit scores from the following accepted English language competency tests:
  • University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CEP) or the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
  • Occupational English Test (OET) – approved for Health Science programs
