BuCor hires more correction officers


MANILA, PHILIPPINES – To beef up operations its personnel in its seven prison facilities nationwide the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has hired a total of 151 corrections officers.

BuCor said in a statement that the newly hired personnel, who will make up the third batch for 2021, will take their oaths of office on Monday, March 7.

It stated that Director General Geraldo Q. Bantag has been strengthening the bureau’s personnel complement in order to fully realize the Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013, as mandated by Republic Act No. 10575.

“Those candidates from NBP (New Bilibid Prison) are hereby instructed to proceed to the NBP Sunken Garden ground, Muntinlupa City, on Monday, 07 March 2022, at 0700H for briefing and preparation for the Oathtaking Ceremony,” BuCor said.

“Those for the IPPF (Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm), SRPPF (San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm), DPPF (Davao Prison and Penal Farm), and SPPF (Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm) may proceed to the respective offices of the penal farms for instructions from the superintendents.”
