Blacklist are the new Mobile Legends world Champion

Blacklist International won the 3rd Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship on Sunday, defeating Onic PH 4-0 in an all-Pinoy showdown at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Kiel Calvin “Oheb” Soriano and Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario were poked early in Game 1, and the Filipino champions were unable to draw significant objectives in the first 10 minutes. Wise’s Yi Sun Shin, on the other hand, kept them at bay by dealing damage.

Blacklist regained control of the game in the 15th – 17th minute, thanks to a team fight down the lord area that saw Oheb and Wise connect for a 3-0 exchange.

After the lord was defeated in the 20th minute, Blacklist pushed for a final team fight, which resulted in a wipeout.

Despite a shaky start, “The Filipino Sniper” emerged as the game’s MVP in Game 1 with a 5/5/10 kill-death-assist tally with Clint.

To begin Game 2, both teams had strong drafts. Oheb’s Beatrix, on the other hand, went ham, thanks to Salic “Hadji” Imam’s Pharsa and Edward “Edward” Jay Dapadap’s Uranus providing him with opportunities to deal damage.

Blacklist then took advantage of Onic PH’s over-commitment on a lord fight 11:32 minutes into Game 2, killing four of Onic PH’s heroes en route to the base take.

When Blacklist grouped up, Onic PH relied on a Lolita pick that paid off handsomely, but Blacklist had too much damage on them, outclassing Onic PH on most occasions.

From there, Blacklist simply rolled through Game 4 to claim a landslide victory and the title of best Mobile Legends team in the world.

After a dominant performance in the Group Stages, Blacklist International was knocked out of the top bracket by the BloodThirstyKings of North America in a 3-2 victory.

They had a longer climb from the lower bracket, avenging Onic Indonesia, eliminating Keyd Stars, title favorites RRQ Hoshi, hometown team EVOS SG, and capping it off with a vengeful 3-1 win against BTK.

Onic PH had the easier path to the Grand Finals seat. After winning the “group of death,” they swept their upper bracket playoff matches against RRQ Hoshi, RSG Singapore, and BTK to earn the first spot in the finals.

They are the second consecutive Filipino team to win the world title in the hit mobile game, following Bren Esports’ victory in the M2 World Championships earlier this year.
