An 80-year-old farmer suddenly became a multi-millionaire after hitting the Superlotto 6/49 draw last January 16, 2022.
A statement from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the farmer’s prize was worth P142,679,606.40.
The farmer allegedly bought his ticket at a lotto outlet in Abuyog, Albay.
He said he has often bet on the lottery for 15 years, and it is worth the wait.
Meanwhile, a medical frontliner in La Union Province also went to the PCSO office to collect the more than P70 million prize in the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw on January 14, 2022.
The lotto winner allegedly works as a frontliner at a local hospital in the province, and has been betting on the lottery for 10 years.
But at least once, he has not won even a “balik-taya.”
However, he did not stop betting until the long -awaited luck arrived.
“Hindi naman din ako tumigil mangarap at baka sakali nga na matamaan ko rin isang araw. Nagulat po talaga ako as in wala ako masabi na totoo nga pala na puwede kayong manalo sa PCSO lotto,” said the lotto winner.
Under the TRAIN Law, lotto prizes over P10,000 will be subject to a 20 percent tax.
